Developing Your Workforce and Getting Them There

Saturday | Sunday | Monday | Tuesday

Encino Meeting Room (Lobby Level)
Partnerships are essential to assuring that talent is available locally to meet the needs of private sector firms that create jobs and support the economies of our communities and regions. Sustaining a skilled workforce can be difficult if potential employees need new competencies and transportation to work. Local and regional governments provide job and life skills training as well as career re-education to help people better compete for new jobs and give employers a skilled workforce to draw from. Federal government programs help transportation-disadvantaged individuals to increase their mobility, and thus, their employment prospects. This session will include a discussion on how to successfully implement and integrate regionally-administered job training and transportation-disadvantaged programs to respond to changing needs.
