The Honorable Kenneth W. Fallows, Mayor of Haskins, Ohio is presented with the Tom Bradley Award by the National Association of Regional Councils (NARC). The award recognizes an outstanding local official who demonstrates leadership excellence and devotion in advocating regional concepts, approaches, and programs.

Ken Fallows is well-respected for his commitment to his community, to the region, and to environmental initiatives on a local, regional and national scale. Serving his 19th year as Mayor of Haskins, Fallows is also part of the leadership of the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG), a planning agency serving 6 counties in Northwest Ohio. His involvement with TMACOG has enhanced wastewater treatment plans and stormwater management practices for the benefit of his county and surrounding areas. Mayor Fallows has actively promoted full funding of the Great Lakes Legacy Act, which could fund sediment cleanup in northwest Ohio’s Ottawa River.

“Throughout his tenure as an elected official, Mayor Fallows has showcased his ability to see the interrelationships among local and regional issues and stakeholders. He is always looking after public interest across boundaries and jurisdictions. Regional collaboration is not a mere concept, but a way of life for Ken,” said NARC Immediate Past President Randall Morris.

Mayor Fallows serves as the Ohio Representative to the Local Government Advisory Committee of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. He is also the Chair of TMACOG’s Environmental Council and TMACOG’s Past Chair. For 35 years he was a classroom teacher at Anthony Wayne High School where he was frequently recognized for outstanding teaching.
