This year’s program will feature a diverse slate of expert panels, educational sessions, and keynote presentations to help you address challenges back home in your region – not to mention an exciting reception at Disney, two mobile tours highlighting two completely different sides of Florida, and NARC’s annual Awards Gala Dinner celebrating regional excellence among members. Behind the Scenes at Walt Disney World Mobile Tour / Sunday, June 3, 12:00 NOON – 4:00 PM * / Add’l Cost: $140
Ever wondered how Walt Disney World seems to make all that magic happen? Join us for a Behind the Scenes tour as we get a peek into the theme parks’ operations. Tour participants will visit the Creative Costuming department, Magic Kingdom’s underground tunnels, and more.

Explore the Headwaters of the Everglades Mobile Tour / Sunday, June 3, 12:00 NOON – 4:00 PM * / Add’l Cost: $50
The headwaters of the Everglades start just down the street from the host hotel. This tour will take you on an airboat ride through the headwaters while showcasing some of the unique environmental characteristics of Central Florida. Time permitting, the tour will also include a stop at the Disney Wilderness Preserve.

Opening Reception / Sunday, June 3, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM * / $15 Fee for Guests 18+
Join us as we kick-off the conference with Disney fireworks! Our opening reception will be held on Disney property at Italy Isola and West Plaza. Our location offers an ideal viewing point for Illuminations; Reflections of Earth! which is the nightly fireworks and laser show hosted at Epcot at 9:00 pm.Transportation to and from the reception location is provided. We will gather at the hotel for opening remarks and then board buses to go to the venue. The reception will conclude and buses will depart at the end of the fireworks presentation.

Please note that you will need to identify the number of non-registered guests that you will bring to the Reception when you register. There is a $15 fee for guests over the age of 18 and the reception is open to guests of all ages. If you do not have the answers to these questions at the time of registration or your answers change, contact Marcy to update your information.

You will need to check-in at the NARC registration desk prior to the Opening Reception this year. **

NARC Awards Gala Dinner / Tuesday, June 5, 6:30 PM *
Consider nominating your organization for a NARC Award, which will be presenting at our annual NARC Awards Gala Dinner. Submit a nomination for an innovative project your organization helped realize. And remember that we also have NARC Leadership Awards – designed to highlight the superior work achieved by your elected officials, executive directors, and staff.

The Audience
Attendees consist of locally-elected officials, who serve on the boards of directors of the nation’s regional councils and MPOs, and the executive staff of those regional councils and MPOs. Regional councils – NARC Members – are voluntary associations of, by and for local governments, established to assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development. This year, NARC expects approximately 250 attendees from across the nation to attend the event.
