The National Association of Regional Councils (NARC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit trade association representing regional planning organizations, is seeking two interns, one intern to support the transportation program and one intern to provide program outreach, research, and communications.

Transportation Intern

The transportation intern will work on legislative and programmatic issues related to NARC’s transportation program. Responsibilities may include issue-based research, policy formulation and implementation, legislative analysis and reporting, Congressional and Administrative correspondence, developing website content, providing support for Congressional relations and Hill meetings, providing content for NARC’s weekly transportation updates and other duties as assigned. A background or strong interest in transportation policy is preferred.

Communications and Policy Intern

The Communications and Policy intern will support NARC’s four areas of interest- environment, transportation, economic development and emergency preparedness. Responsibilities include providing membership database support, legislative analysis and reporting, developing website content (e.g. blog posts), conducting research, providing content for NARC’s weekly and bi-weekly electronic newsletters; assisting in preparations for NARC’s upcoming Annual Conference and Exhibition, and other duties as assigned.
