Campaign to Invest in America’s Workforce Issues Letter in Support of Maintaining WIOA Funding
The Campaign to Invest in America’s Workforce (CIAW), of which NARC is a founding member, forwarded today a letter to Senate and House Appropriations Committee chairs and ranking members urging them to fund, at current levels, key education and workforce programs that will contribute to successful workforce development and job growth efforts. Among the programs emphasized in the letter were the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Carl D. Perkins Act, Higher Education Act, Older Americans Act, and other programs that help Americans gain family-supporting jobs. The letter points out that “Investments in America’s workers’ skills and education are critical to businesses, workers, and the economy,” and that it is only in this way that we can ensure that our nation remains competitive in the world economy. A copy of the letter is attached.
