NARC held the fifth in a series of workshops addressing integrating air quality and transportation planning in Washington, DC, on March 23, 2003. This workshop focused regulation and implementation options for the newly proposed 8-hour NAAQS. It outlined strategies that newly designated nonattainment areas may utilize, including the EAC option. It also reviewed the problem of ozone transport and the negative health effects of PM2.5.
