Planner I
The Champaign County Regional Planning Commission is seeking a transportation professional to join a growing multi-faceted team of planners and engineers. This position will be primarily responsible for developing a Human Service Transportation Plan (HSTP) for East Central Illinois (18 county) area. The coordinator will also be responsible for overseeing the regional program of public transportation projects that receive state and federal funds to provide public transportation services.
Bachelor’s degree in the field of planning or transportation, marketing or public administration required. Three to five years of experience in a planning-related field, preferably in transportation, desired. Strong facilitation and communication skills are a must as the coordinator will be working with a variety of stakeholders to prepare the HSTP.
Report writing and organizational skills are also essential. Additional skills such as GIS are a plus. Travel (60% in first yr and 30% ongoing) within the East Central Illinois region will be necessary. Salary 35K plus benefits.
