Salary: $32,000 - $35,000, commensurate upon qualifications

General Responsibilities:

Assist the BSMPO Director in all forms of data collection, preparation of reports, and the development of implementation strategies for projects and plans,

Assist in managing delegated transportation research projects;

Responsible for collection, analysis, and maintenance of socio-economic, demographic, land use, and other transportation planning related data,

Assist in the development and maintenance of the BSMPO GIS database; operate the GIS computer applications and maintain inventory and records of all maps and electronic database,
Job Qualifications

An understanding of the principles, practices, and objectives of transportation planning,

An understanding of the demographic, social, and economic factors of transportation and regional planning,

A comprehension of standard statistical techniques and research methods used in transportation planning,

A knowledge of software and techniques for geographic information systems (GIS), database design and analysis, electronic communications, word processing and spreadsheets,
Education, Experience, or Training

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in urban or regional planning, transportation planning or transportation logistics, geography, or other related fields of study, or
-
A minimum of one to three years of professional experience preferably in transportation or regional planning, geography or other related field of study, or
-
An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
