Solar Energy

There is rising interest in understanding and planning for clean, safe, reliable sources of energy at the region level. As the demand for energy continues to grow and as budgets shrink, communities often look regionally to find energy solutions. Thanks to recent technology advancements, cost reductions and policy changes, solar energy is a viable, cost-effective solution for communities. With increased attention and funding for “green” business development, communities recognize the great opportunity solar provides in developing a strong energy economy. Whether you’re just curious about solar energy or you’ve already installed solar on your government facilities, here you’ll find timely and actionable information including making the case for solar, how to finance and plan your solar projects, and the technical assistance to successfully implement your projects.

The SunShot Solar Outreach Partnership (SolarOPs)
NARC, as a part of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) SunShot Solar Outreach Partnership (SolarOPs), is working to increase the use and integration of solar energy technologies in regions and communities across the country. Solar OPs supports local governments and regional organizations committed to making solar a mainstream energy source. Through this partnership, NARC and other partners are providing outreach, technical analysis, and assistance to expand local and regional governments’ innovative efforts to accelerate local adoption of solar energy in their facilities and community-wide.
