Overview
NARC invites session proposals for plenary sessions, breakout sessions, panels, interactive workshops, or other session types for the upcoming Annual Conference and Exhibition in Seattle (June 8-11, 2025).
The NARC Annual Conference and Exhibition is the largest national event focused on promoting effective regional cooperation and solutions. We target topics central to our members and their local elected officials, such as transportation, environment and energy, economic and community development, and emergency response and public safety.
Throughout the conference, members will learn from engaging presenters, network with peers, and attend interactive mobile tours on regional development challenges and opportunities.
Session Proposal Guidelines
Topic Relevancy
Sessions must be directly relevant to the Annual Conference and Exhibition attendees. Our attendees come from various councils of government, metropolitan planning organizations, and other regional organizations across the nation. In addition, we host city and county elected leaders and their staff, academics, and private sector representatives.
Sessions must present key findings and include actionable insights for conference attendees. If the applicant is not from a regional organization, the session must either include a regional organization as a panelist or focus on work done with a NARC member or trends/data that inform members’ jobs.
Our members are active on several NARC policy committees and working groups focused on the following topics which may be of interest: Transportation and Reauthorization, Emergency Management and Resiliency, Environment and Energy, Economic and Community Development, Communication to the Public, Broadband Access, Affordable Housing, and Water Infrastructure.
Presentation Structure
- Sessions must be between 45 minutes and 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- Sessions can be PowerPoint-style presentations, interactive workshops, lectures, panel discussions, or another format that engages the audience.
- Sessions must include a 15-minute period for Q&A, if not already allotted for in
the session
Selection process
All submissions turned in by the submission deadline will be reviewed by NARC staff and NARC’s Programs Committee. Incomplete submissions will not be considered. All listed speakers must consent to participate. Submission of a session does not guarantee a place on the agenda. All speakers and/or panelists will be required to register for the 2025 NARC Annual Conference and Exhibition at the regular registration rate.
